As for the inspiration for the song in this bit, you almost hit the nail on the head. It was a 70's rock song that was and occasionally still is featured in a half time show at a sports event, but it's not Queen's "We Will Rock You." Gary Glitter's "Rock and Roll Part 2," commonly known as the "Hey" song.
