'i've been feeling weird all day', craig ferguson admits, 'and then when i came in here i noticed that there were cameras following me around... did you know there is a camera up there?' craig asks as he points to the ceiling in the back of the set. they then show the set from the angle of that camera. ooh, thats a new one! we've seen a few different shots and angles from the show over the past few months that havent been done before. its fun every once in a while to notice the little changes and additions they make to the show on a technical level as well. why would they do that particular angle of the set? who knows, but it is interesting!

a view from the back

tiny set with drew carey
'open the curtain, i'll show you what's back there', craig says as the curtain on the right side of the stage opens to reveal a tiny talk show host desk, and a guest chair with a puppet sized drew carey! 'when did that get there? is that a tiny little drew carey?!? did i know that was there? no. can i ask why is that there?' craig asks the producer michael, 'you dont know. good producing, well done. what the hell is going on?!? why have we got a tiny little drew carey back there? are the muppets doing a talk show when we're not here? you know whats weird, i shouldn't tell you this, that is the actual size of drew carey. why is that there? there is no reason for this, i have no idea why its there, i swear i have no idea about this. is someone hosting a tiny little show back there? like, so dave is on the big talk show, i'm on the much smaller talk show, and then there's a tiny little talk show back behind the curtain!' craig then tells secretariat to walk around the tiny stage to show the crazy perspective. really strange, really funny!
richie sambora house band
for years craig ferguson has been complaining that all the other late night talk shows have their own house band but he doesnt. a couple weeks ago he and geoff peterson were getting in to it again and craig suggested that they have richie sambora, the guitarist from bon jovi, be the house band. as they were taking that idea and running with it, they decided that they wanted him to come, but not to play the guitar. rather, richie would come and play a tiny harp and bongos naked! recently richie actually stopped by the show to try to make it happen for real!
'i'm very excited! geoff, remember i was saying that i wanted a house band?' craig asks.
'richie sambora' geoff responds.
'i said i wanted richie sambora- guess who's here?!?' craig questions, just as richie sambora comes walking out on stage!
'i heard you were talking about me on the show', richie says.
'i was talking about you a little bit', craig admits, 'i thought it would be great if you would be our house band on the show but not necessarily playing the guitar. just you, naked, playing a tiny little harp!'
'i really love the show', richie responds, 'but i'm not going to be naked playing the harp. but i'll tell ya what, as long as you let me play some of my songs, i'd be fine with that!'
turns out they are actually going to make it happen! richie sambora will be the late late show house band for a week starting on december 3!

a bill clinton message
it looks like craig ferguson has added a new impression to his repertoire: bill clinton. craig regularly plays sean connery, michael caine, and prince charles, but he recently began adding an impression of clinton in his new segment called 'a special message from former president bill clinton' where craig, with a beauty on each arm, makes some political statements that are heavy on the double (or not so double) entendres. wearing a grey wig, craig as clinton states 'in our current partisan atmosphere, i think we can all agree on one thing: brunettes can be every bit as hot as blondes. but its the red heads that take it all the way up to defcon freaky!'
hello, new studio!
the show starts off with a time lapse montage of the crew putting the new studio together- its looking good! 'its weird, isnt it?' craig ferguson asks, 'its kind of like the old studio and its kind of not like the old studio! this is what i look like in the light! its a great day for us, we've got this brand new studio, we've got double the amount of lesbians we normally have! this is really strange, i feel like i'm on somebody else's show. like a proper television show! this is like a brand spanking new set, and by spanking, i mean spanking- we have a spanking station behind the curtain, regis philbin helped me break it in... anyway, we've improved everything that sucked about the old show except the host. thats self deprecating humor right there, right geoff? anyway, i'm very excited, i couldnt wait to come to work today. that feeling will fade eventually. yup, there it goes!'
goodbye, old studio!
craig is getting a bigger set! as craig ferguson says goodbye to the studio he has been performing 'the late late show with craig ferguson' in for the past seven and a half years, he explained a bit about what is in store for the show:
'the new studio will be the same old crap, people have said 'oh, whats the set going to be like?' its going to be like this- the same set! the same set! i know what you are thinking, 'they dont do that in tv'. thats right, they dont! we are taking this set and adding a bit on to it. i'm not kidding! people have been saying to me 'i dont want the show to change!' i'm like 'who are you? everyone else does!' frankly i dont know whats wrong with change, people in the audience during the commercial break are always saying 'spare change? spare change?' if you are a regular viewer of this show i'm sorry. but you know i come out here every night, i stand in this spot, and i talk about whatever is on my mind. i've done 1565 opening monologues with four jokes spread out over that time. the new studio will have all the usual talk show stuff, you know, we will have the desk, the chairs, the podium, the audience pleasure dungeon, the glory holes, the glass unicorns, the sex swing, the ferrets, the monkeys, the handcuffs, the bedazzelers, the mimes, and fred willard! you know, all the classic talk show stuff. you know the one thing is that we will have a bigger audience. it wont make much of a difference, it will just be more people not laughing. the new studio will be super high tech, there will be these new fancy gadgets that are on all the tv shows now, they are called 'lights'. and lesbian row will be much bigger. i dont mean we are getting more seats, i just mean we are getting bigger lesbians!'
at the end of the show, craig gathered together everyone who works on the show for one last hurrah, ending the night with the promise 'we will see you when we come back everybody! good night!'

larry king's guide to london
larry king, frequent guest and friend of the late late show with craig ferguson, gives us a brief guide to london. just in time for the olympics, king shares small bits of wisdom like this:
'i'm standing in front of buckingham palace', larry says, 'i thought they would let me in because my last name is king. i thought wrong. oh, and an fyi: they have tazers over here too.'
'you know, in england the law states that a pregnant woman may relieve herself wherever she wishes. i say, hey, why let them have all the fun!'

craig goes to scotland
obviously inspired by the success of their trip to paris, craig ferguson is taking the late late show on the road again! this time he is going with geoff peterson and secretariat to his old home in scotland! taking a few guests with him, craig will be spending the week with michael clarke duncan, david sedaris, ariel tweto, and rashida jones.
scotland- coming soon!
after the success of the paris episodes, it looks like 'the late late show with craig ferguson' is on the road again! this time they are going to visit craig's homeland of scotland! craig recently showed off this cool video to entice us to watch the scotland episodes. they are going to air may 14-18, so make sure you check them out! the scotland video craig showed can be seen here.
alex and bridger at the zoo
craig ferguson recently tried to hook up a couple of his employees. bridger, who had been an intern with the show for a while but recently was hired on as a line producer, and another intern named alex were brought up during the opening segment of the show. craig has been trying to get the two of them together. they are both short and red heads, so obviously they should go out right? that was craigs thinking as he invited them to go out on a date together to the l.a. zoo. on the show they did a segment where the two of them were at the zoo in front of the flamingos. craig has recently been on a kick of talking about flamingos and how much they smell, so this bit focused pretty heavily on the terrible stink of those pink birds. alex and bridger, obviously not hitting it off as craig had suspected, are attacked by the lawn ornaments with bridger falling victim to their attacks and alex walking off annoyed... maybe the two of them can make it work anyway?
True or not true!
it seems that craig ferguson came up with a new bit for the show! he was sitting down at his desk the other night, answering emails. he got a tweet from aaron is sacramento, which got craig going on sacramento. he said 'this tweet is from aaron is sacramento california, the capitol of the state of california is in sacramento. thats the very town where governor scharzenegger did to the state of california what he did to his maid while he was married. true or not true? oh! thats a new bit for the show, i've just invented it! geoff, we've got a new bit! its awesome! its called 'true or not true'!' craig then progresses to go through a few different examples of 'true or not true'. craig continues 'you know what? i'm pretty sure that by the end of the week we will have a graphic for 'true or not true'!' actually, craig has a graphic, admittedly pretty lame, by the end of the show! wow, those graphics people sure work quick!
gp and the fergs
dr. who convention with chris & bridger
after coming on the show numerous times talking about dr who with craig ferguson, chris hardwicke went to a dr. who convention with criag's assistant bridger. they attended gallifrey one and they brought a camera crew so they could record the whole thing! chris, who is a huge dr. who nerd, showed bridger, who knew nothing of dr. who, what the whole thing is about. along the way they talked with a bunch of people dressed up as different characters from the show, from a weeping angel to guys dressed as different doctors. after chris sends bridger into the tardis, bridger comes out dressed as the doctor and claims 'dr who is the best think ever!' ah, another convert!
secretariat in new york
'now, before the holidays we sent the horse, secretariat, we sent him... i think its a him, we sent him to new york to deliver a christmas gift to jimmy fallon, who is my direct time slot competitor on nbc. anyway, the horse disappeared for a week and i'm like 'where has he been? whats he been up to?' we now have the footage from where he was! take a look everybody, secretariat in new york!'during the segment we see that secretariat visits 'live with regis and kelly', walks the streets of new york, visiting the empire state building's observation deck. visiting the old apartment craig lived in during the 80's. he visits 'the view', and he drops in to see katie curic doing the secretariat dance at 'cbs news.' he walks down broadway and even stops by 'the late show with david letterman'! where dave replies 'yet another waste of time on tonights show'.
morgan freeman reads from snooki's book
after craig ferguson talked about the new book 'a shore thing' by snooki, he showed morgan freeman reciting a few passages through out the night. here are those amazing gems of literature:'gia danced around a little, shaking her peaches for show. she shook it hard. too hard. in the middle of a shimmy her stomach cramped, a fart slipped out, a loud one, and stinky.'
'i love food, i love drinking, boys, dancing until my feet swell, i love my family, my friends, my job, my boss, and i love my body. especially the badonk.'
'he had an ok body, not bad at all, and naturally toned abs. she could pour a shot of tequila down his belly and slurp it out of his navel without getting splashed in the face.'
bridger, secretariat, and secretariat
geoff peterson, the robot skeleton sidekick, was supposed to go to a special event with secretariat, but due to the beating he got from russell brand earlier, the intern bridger had to go instead. bridger announces 'we are at hollywood park to cover the 'too hot trot' match race between secretariat, from the disney movie, sharky from 'medival times', and our own late late show secretariat'. bridger then goes into find out how the horses are groomed and fed for the race. as bridger explains, 'as a throughbred comedy horse, secretariat cant run without three bikini girls, theme music, and a little person'. they then proceed to do one of those 'benny hill' style fastforward runs around the field eventually ending with secretariat falling flat on his face!
craig ferguson's doctor who intro
what a shame! craig ferguson and his crew had prepared an introduction for the dr. who themed episode, but found out after they had filmed it that they had not secured the rights to the dr. who theme music! 'so tonight because its a dr. who special, we had this idea to do with the dr. who theme music' craig shares, 'i had written some words over top of it, and we all did a dance number and we rehearsed it, the last two days we rehearsed it, rehearsed it like crazy! the puppets were in it, we were like 'ooh!' and there was a whole big thing, cause i know you enjoy the puppet intros, and i do to. and look, these guys dont dress like this all the time! so anyway, five minutes before we start tonight, i'm not kidding, five minutes, the producers, and i use that term loosely, they came to me and said 'craig, we havent got legal clearance to use the song. i said 'you fucking assholes! what the fuck?!?' but luckily i didnt let it get me angry or affect me in any way...'later in the show as he is talking to chris hardwicke, craig says 'it would be a shame if someone were to leak the intro online...' and wouldnt you know it, someone did! check out the hilarious intro with craig, his dancers, geoff, secretariat, and even with dr. who himself: matt smith! you can find it on chris' website here. check it out, its really funny!
craig's monster mash
in celebration of halloween, craig ferguson organized and performed another one of his hilarious sing-alongs to open up the show! this time the song they performed was 'monster mash'. craig was dressed as an evil scientist ans the dancers and puppets played along. they even got geoff peterson in on the action- fitting considering he's a skeleton! it was very funny, as always.
melt with craig
craig ferguson is back at it again! the return of the singing intro finds craig singing the modern english song 'ill stop the world and met with you'. in it craig is sporting a navy captain's jacket and a crazy blonde 'flock of seagulls' wig! wavey the crocadillio and cyd the rabbit help out, along with guntar on the guitar and random black guy on the tambourine. and just to keep things strange, adam (dressed as an astronaut) and jamie from mythbusters are there to help out as well! what chaotic, silly fun!
geoff peterson on the red carpet
craig ferguson's skeleton robot sidekick geoff peterson landed a great gig: interviewing celebrities on the red carpet! he went out and talked to all the famous people at the 'you again' premiere, including kristen bell, sigorney weaver, jamie lee curtis, victor garber, tommy davidson, almost made out with cloris leachman, and talked to betty white! it was a constant barrage of 'in your pants jokes' and having the celebrities sign his funny bone. many of the celebrities looked quite clueless about what exactly was going on, except for 'late late show' regular kristen bell who once again warned geoff that she is after his job!
