craig wins an award!

looks like craig ferguson is being recognized for his humor!  recently craig said that he went up to canada to accept a comedy award.  'i'd like to thank my agent and my friend geoffrey peterson, and all the little people', craig ferguson began at the top of a recent episode of the late late show, 'yesterday something very rare happened in my life: i won an award!  it is actually a very prestigious award, from the bamff world media festival in canada, its a very big deal, its the sir peter ustinov award for comedy.  its actually a very prestigious award, however, our canadian friends are not given to such flashy showmanship the way we like to do things here.  so, when i went all the way to canada yesterday to get the award, they gave it to me, and here it is!'  craig says, then shows off the rather small award.  'i'm very greatful for it, its a lovely award.  the good thing about it is that its canadian, so its cleaver, they are like 'so we are giving you an award, but it doesnt mean you're great, eh.  its lovely, so its really going to look out of place here!'

craig on the talk

with the super bowl coming up, cbs is having a special sunday episode of 'the late late show with craig ferguson'!  that means that craig and the gang are heading to new orleans for the big game.  craig took a little bit of time out of his busy schedule to stop by 'the talk', the afternoon talk show on cbs.  he gathered with the ladies and talked about strange new orleans food, strange relatives, and his feeling about american football from a foreigner's perspective.  he had a great time with the ladies, even if there were freaky frog legs around...

craig on who

the latest issue of entertainment weekly has a cover story about 'the cult of doctor who', which craig ferguson happens to be a big fan of.  in fact, matt smith, the current doctor who, had his first american television interview on the late late show with craig ferguson!  the article is about how doctor who has changed over the past few years from a small british tv show into a smash that continues to win over many american viewers.  in the article they talk with craig about his obvious love of the doctor:
'craig ferguson insists his who references on the late late show reflect less a desire to publicize the icon from the old country than an attempt to keep his own show fresh.  "i have to do a show that's interesting to me, because you'd lose your mind otherwise," says the scot, whose who viewing dates back to the late 60's.  "my show is about whatever the fuck i want to do.  if i want to dance around singing doctor who tunes, i'm going to do it!"'.

+ 'its a great day if you wear glasses', criag ferguson announces, 'every nerd in america just went 'what?'  google just announced that they are making something called google glasses.  this is true, they are like regular glasses but they have embedded technology.  neither do i.  they project data on the lenses in front of your eyes.  no way!  and like with any new technology, i have two important questions: 1. how soon can i get them? and b. can i use them for pornography?  nah, i wont get google glasses. call me old fashioned, but i prefer to put two i phones over my eyes while i'm driving and texting.  the google glasses dont have the technology i wont though, they dont have x ray vision- come on google!  i remember ordering the x ray glasses from the back of comic books when i was a kid.  i was very excited, it used to say x ray glasses and these glasses with big swirly things on them and i was so excited.  but they never did what you wanted them to, which is to see naked people.  unless your definition of x ray is having red and white cardboard circles in front of your eyes.  they never worked until i wore them to a strip club!'

craig on nerdist!

chris hardwick has been on 'the late late show with craig ferguson' many times.  chris is a nerd and lover of all things nerdy (check out his website for proof!), every time he comes on to criag's show they always end up talking about dr. who and the like.  well, it seems that the bbc has taken notice of chris' obsession because he recently got a show on the bbc america channel called 'the nerdist'.  the show is basically a talk show where chris and his two friends chat about anything that comes to their minds.  it is exactly like the nerdist podcasts (which, by the way, if you havent been listening to those, you better start catching up- they are hilarious!) where  the three of them just basically nerd out about anything and everything.  chris must have wanted to repay the favor because his first guest on the show was our very own craig ferguson!  the two of them talk about everything including the nerdist graphic, craig's recent visit to france, girlfriend advice, and craig's 'muppet' show!  and even, with all that dr. who talk, guess who shows up? matt smith!  craig, chris, and matt have a hilarious interview together!  its obvious that those involved are having a blast i sure hope they make some more of these!

craig on 'today'

criag ferguson stops by the 'today show' to talk with hoda and kathie lee about his recent time in paris. they show a few clips of craig and kristen bell walking the streets and visiting a shoe store. craig talks with the ladies about shoes and sexuality, underwear, the drew carey show, his new baby, and how he met his wife. also, he talks about a possible game show thats in the works! criag is brimming over with his usual funny self! check out the video here!

craig on leno?!?

what? craig ferguson was on leno?!? yes, thats right, craig ferguson appeared on 'the tonight show with jay leno' last night. what is this world coming to?!? well, at least during that episode that had one good host on it! craig talks about being on leno during the opening bit of his own show, heres what he had to say: 'i was on the tonight show tonight with jay leno. it was funny, i was on the tonight show and they have everything there! he've got lights, and cameras, and an audience that wants to see the host! ok, maybe they dont have that... but they've got lights and cameras. theres bands there and a desk that isnt rickety, and there's glittery balls hanging from the ceiling! not just one glittery ball on a desk, they were hanging from the ceiling! as if they were free, you could just reach out and pluck them, as if they were some sort of disco fruit! anyway i just loved it, it was like for someone who does this job, like sitting in a big beautiful ferrari or something. and then i got to come back here, a soviet era sedan. and i'm not kidding, i go into the tonight show and they've all got free things, they are like 'hey craig, have free cups, here's a bath robe, here's a hat, and please take this complimentary car, and train, and here's some moisturizer that costs thousands. here, have your own leopard, off you go!' and then i come back here and put on this suit and i walk down the corridor to this studio and i see a crap stain on the carpet. and i thought, you know, i wouldnt be anywhere else!'

geoff on the soup!

craig and joel mchale are always showing up on each other's tv shows! joel is a regular guest on 'the late late show with craig ferguson', and craig has even stopped by joel's show 'the soup' on E! the two of them are really funny on their own, but when they get together all bets are off! this past week on 'the soup' jeoff peterson even stooped by to pester our other favorite host! joel seemed to just get annoyed as geoff pulled out his usual catch phrases: 'balls', 'in your pants', and the like! joel was pleasantly annoyed as geoff popped up a couple other times during the course of the show. its strange to see geoff peterson showing up in other places, thats for sure...

does that need to be said?

Craig ferguson steps away from his nightly hosting duties on 'the late late show with criag ferguson' to travel the country as a stand-up comedian. recently epix.com has filmed some of those performances and put together a new comedy special! at their website you can check out a few interviews with craig and clips from the special that will premiere february 19. check it out here!

craig ferguson hosts shark week!

one topic that craig ferguson loves to talk about regularly on his show is his love of the discovery channel's shark week. well, this year they invited craig to come down and host a special for them during shark week! for some foolish reason, craig took them up on that offer! the special that he hosted is called 'shark bites: adventures in shark week' and it recently premiered on the discovery channel. during the special craig spends some time getting ready to go under and swim with the sharks. as he shares his fears and excitement, he shares some horror stories of those who have gone down before him and havent fared so well. when craig finally goes down he gets to swim with some of the smaller sharks in the caribbean, and even goes down to feed the bull sharks! yikes! it was a pretty cool special and we get craig's humorous take on all the exciting aspects of being among these awesome beasts. they have the whole thing online, so check out the special yourself on the discovery website here!

geoff peterson at comic con

geoff peterson, craig ferguson's sidekick on 'the late late show' went to comic con this year! he went along with his creator, grant imahara of the mythbusters. craig asked geoff how it was going at comic con on the show:
'you are quiet tonight, geoff' craig states,
'hi' responds geoff,
'well, hi to you. glad you could make it. you having a nice time at comic con?' craig asks,
'oh no' geoff replies.
'whats wrong? i thought you loved comic con, whats going on?' craig asks with sympathy,
'ooh la la, splash!' remarks geoff
'at comic con?!?' craig asks bewildered,
'goodnight, craig'.

craig on kevin pollak's chat show

a little while a go craig ferguson appeared as a guest on kevin pollak's own talk show, fittingly called 'kevin pollak's chat show'. its a lot of fun to listen to these two guys have a real conversation. since this is a web only show, there is no need to interrupt for commercials, no language censorship, and no particular time constraints either. which means that these two guys get to really dig in and have some thoughtful conversations about anything that they want to talk about. some of the topics craig discusses is how he got his start on 'the late late show', how carson's death surprisingly turned into craig's own late night birth, how he first came to america and eventually became a citizen, and an interesting analogy of how baseball represents the american spirit. kevin does a great job of thinking of good questions to ask and leading the discussion, though he does step on toes a bit in his guiding. its a bit long, but worth watching. check it out here!

craig the nerdist

craig ferguson recently had chris hardwicke on his show. chris is known for many things: his stand-up comedy, hosting g4's 'web soup' show, popping up on 'attack of the show', and writing for wired magazine. he also has a great website called nerdist. one aspect of the website is his weekly podcasts which are recorded live at club largo in california. well, after chris was invited on craig's show, he returned the favor and invited craig to join him for his nerdist podcast!
its a very funny show where craig and chris (and a bunch of others) chat about everything from craig's start on 'the late late show', to their love of dr. who! give it a listen here.

craig hosts the boston pops

as has been the annual tradition, craig ferguson hosted the cbs 4th of july special in boston. he came out and welcomed everyone to an evening of fun. there was the boston pops orchestra playing the traditional patriotic songs, toby keith even played a couple hits, and then there were the amazing fireworks! what a show!

craig to host shark week!

'hello everyone, my name is brian' says the shark puppet, 'i've got some very exciting news, as you may or may not know, the discovery channel, an exellent channel, much better than cbs, it features lot of animals eating other animals, kind of my thing! well, the discovery channel is 25 years old this week. yes, i know. but i love the discovery channel because every year they have something called 'shark week'. and shark week is just the kind of programing i enjoy. it has lots of sharks. well, the good news is that shark week this year will be hosted by craig ferguson! 'but wait!' i hear you say in your puny human voices, 'wait, wait brian! wait! surely craig ferguson works on cbs, how could he be involved in the discovery channel? its a completely different company!' yes, well lawyers figured it out! they are the real sharks, am i right ladies and gentlemen? ha ha ha! anyway, here's the deal. craig ferguson is going to be hosting shark week, he has to go to the bahamas and dive with sharks. and this is where i come in. i call on all the sharks on all the ocean beds and other parts of the ocean, all across the world. the bull sharks in australia, the great whites in san francisco, the tigers the hammerheads, the white tip reef sharks, the cambian reef sharks, the other reef sharks, all the sharks, and the baracuda, which is not a shark, but is still quite scary. i call on all of them to meet me in the bahamas. lets eat this douche bag, once and for all! ha ha! then finally we can get kilborne back!'

how to train your dragon

dreamworks animation recently released its latest movie 'how to train your dragon' and one of the actors voicing a character is none other than our very own craig ferguson! he voices the character gobber, one of the older vikings who loves to hunt dragons. he recently gave an interview for the film. check it out here. oh, and dont forget to go and see 'how to train your dragon'!

craig on dave

on september 24th craig ferguson made an appearance on 'the late show with david letterman' in support of his new book 'american on purpose'. it's always fun to watch craig when he's on other people's shows, he's a lot more reserved and he really behaves himself. he's not nearly as strange as he is on his own show, he probably feels like people might actually be watching him...
watch the whole episode here.

craig on the view

with craig ferguson's new book, 'american on purpose', coming out, he did a little promotion for it. one of those promotional stops was on 'the view'. he joined the ladies and talked about many different topics, such as freedoms we should be allowed, his new tattoos, his past, his wife, his career, becoming a pilot, the drew carrey show, and everything else they wanted to talk about. he came across as a really sincere guy who doesnt bother with all that self centered garbage most celebrities seem to have. a very interesting and fun interview!

4th of july special

this year craig ferguson again hosted the 'boston pops fireworks spectacular' on CBS. 'happy 4th of july! this is my third year hosting this incredible party! a lot has changed for me personally over the years. the first year i was here i wasn't even an american citizen, the second year i became a citizen, and now i'm just an average american dude kicking back and having a bbq, lighting off fireworks with a million of my closest friends!'
through out the telecast craig would come on and introduce everything that was going on, from performances by neil diamond, to the amazing fireworks in boston!
