'so, here's the thing', craig ferguson shares, 'my tweety exploded today!  and also i got some messages on twitter.  some people were mad at me because kristen stewart was here last night and i was talking to her.  and since i've been a bit mean about the twilight movies, which i've never seen, i've been a bit of a douche about her.  anyway, she was here and i was polite and nice to her, she was very nice and i tried to be a nice and friendly guy to her.  the comments were like 'you've sold out! you've sold out, craig!'  yeah, when i took this fucking job!  anyway, here's the thing, kristen stewart was here and my plan worked!  because i got a signed bella doll!  she signed it!'  craig then took a pole of the audience to figure out its permanent place of honor: on the mantel piece, or in secretariat's winter wonderland.  the decision was made that is will be put over by the horse.  now we will be able to 'enjoy' it forever!

craig's mantel

one of the new features of craig ferguson's new set on the late late show is a beautiful new fire place and mantel.  every time they cut to geoff peterson you can get a good look at it in the background.  the fire is not real, instead it is a cheesy back lit image of a fireplace that flickers a bit.  the interesting part, though, is what craig has on the mantel.  by taking a closer look, we can get a peek in to craig's mind.  careful!

one one side of the mantel we have some of craig's loved ones: a picture of betty white, a one time regular on the show before she got popular again a couple years ago.  next, a framed picture of david letterman, craig's boss.  got to do a little kissing up, huh?  next to him is a picture of tom snyder, the man who hosted the first incarnation of the late late show.  he passed away a few years ago and craig honors his memory by including his picture.  next to him is a small framed picture of justin bieber.  why?  good question...

next on the mantel is a picture of angela lansbury and then a picture of paul mccartney (or at least that's the order craig would say...).  i'm not entirely sure why, but craig has also included a framed photo of the cussy rabbit puppet that once was a common staple of the late late show.  he, and his puppet friends, havent made appearances on the show in a while.  maybe this is craig's way of letting us know that they wont be back...
along with these items, there is an ever changing selection of other items on the mantel, most of them are given as gifts from guests to add to the mantel.  so far, craig has received:

'something weird just happened...' craig ferguson fearfully exclaims, 'geoff and i were mucking about before the show, right geoff?'
'yup, just muckin'.' geoff responds.
'yeah, just muckin about.  nothing strange going on.  just a guy and his gay robot pal.  and i threw a question at him and said 'i dont know, maybe we should ask the rhino' and watch what happens'
'i said 'hi, how are ya?' says the stuffed rhino head above the mantle!
'wow!  i know!  is your name sandra?' craig asks due to the sign under the rhino head that says 'sandra'.
'yeah, sandra peterson.' the rhino head responds.
'sandra peterson?!?' craig asks.
'yeah, no relation though.'
'where are you from?'
'i'm from the east coast, i did some traveling up and down there, and then you know, i came across country and answered geoff's ad and now here i am' sandra responds.
'you put an ad in for a rhino?' craig asks.
geoff answers 'i just said i was horny...'
'well thats good, you are very welcome here' craig tells.
'thank you, its just, you know, you and geoff have a good thing going and i didnt want to interupt the comedy team of abbot and costello, and peterson and ferguson.' sandra replies.
'wait wait, ferguson and peterson' craig corrects.
'i think she had it right the first time' geoff interupts.
'so let me get this straight' craig adds,  'i am now going to be heckled by a gay robot appliance and a wall hanging?  that pleases me...'

goeff's snake mug

craig ferguson has one of the coolest mugs on tv!  he always has his trusty coiled mug on his desk during 'the late late show', sipping from it when ever he is thirsty, or whenever a guest is particularly bad...  well, have you noticed that geoff has his own snake mug as well?

i ordered myself one of craig's mugs, and now i've got geoff's mug as well!  i ordered it from houseoftasso.com, which is about the only place you can find these things online!  they did such a great job with the coiled mug, that i knew they would deliver for the geoff snake mug as well.  sure enough, it arrived safe and in one piece- thanks guys!

when i got it i found a bit of a surprise- you cant really tell from seeing it on the show, but there is a little ceramic snake head poking up from inside the mug!  i'm sure it would be pretty funny if you are drinking coffee from it and as you drink there is a creepy snake head that reveals itself the more you drink!  i may have to try that, actually...

guess what her majesty is thinking

every once in a while craig ferguson adds another option for the guests to select as their interview time draws to a close.  after recently receiving a collectible plate of the queen's jubilee from carrie fischer, craig has decided to add an option taking advantage of this item.  its called 'guess what her majesty is thinking'.  craig explains it like this: 'we have imagined a scenario where her majesty the queen has been falsely imprisoned, you must guess her thoughts'.  craig then holds the plate (which has been encased in a black box with two jail bars over the front of it) in front of his face and, with a high voice, impersonates the queen!  man, this stuff just gets weirder and weirder, huh?

bag of quarters

when a guest is done on the late late show with craig ferguson, they are offered an option on how they would like to end their time: awkward pause, mouth organ, or go for the big cash prize.  usually the guests go for the big cash prize, which is a stack of fifty singles that they can win.  recently though, the stack of singles has been replaced with a bag full of quarters!  why the change?  well, craig explains the new money bag when he offers it to 'NCIS' star mark harmon: 'we have the big cash prize which is fifty dollars in quarters!  and you know its real because its in a sack with a dollar sign on it!  CBS just decided that if i give out the prize in quarters there's more chance the celebrities will give it back!  i've just been giving out 50 dollars in singles and everybody is like 'awesome!' and they are out of here.  and then the agents are like 'hey, five of that's mine! five of that's mine!'

my own rattlesnake mug!!!

wow, that was fast! i ordered myself a couple rattlesnake mugs, just like the ones used by craig ferguson and geoff peterson on 'the late late show with craig ferguson', and boy are they cool! i put in the order on saturday, and they were waiting on my doorstep monday afternoon when i got home- now thats quick! anyway, they both arrived safely, no scratches or broken parts, and they even came with a little note from the woman who sent them from house of tasso!

this thing is pretty awesome- just like the one craig has!

the only difference between this one and craigs? this one doesnt have a tooth chipped off! thanks to house of tasso's fantastic shipping and packaging!

this thing will really start some conversations, thats for sure! i figured since its a rattle snake, it belongs among the foliage, right?

ordering snake mugs

i finally decided to get one for myself! seeing that snake mug on craig ferguson's desk every night on 'the late late show with craig ferguson' was finally too much for me and i put in an order for one of my own! i decided to get the mug that craig uses as well as the one on geoff peterson's podium, so i'm going to be in for twice the snake fun! i found it online at house of tasso. i even got to talk to the woman who runs that site, she's really nice by the way! hope they come soon...

win the big cash prize!

at the end of each interview craig ferguson always likes to offer a choice for the guests. it started off with an awkward pause, then expanded to include the option of playing the mouth organ (and a chance to win the golden mouth organ!). there have been a some other options that never seemed to pan out, like 'touch my glittery ball'. but now there is a new one: win the big cash prize! if a guest chooses this option, they can win fifty dollars, all in singles, by answering one question correctly. the question always starts the same way: 'iceland is a country in the north atlantic. its capitol is reykjavik...' and then craig asks the question. what do iceland and reykjavik have to do with the question? nothing at all! but it sure does mix up the guests! questions have ranged from topics such as blinking, the french language, and regis philbin's height. fortunately, the guests can ask for a little help and craig will whisper the right answer to them, but not all the guests take advantage of it. usually the guests dont even believe the money is real! to which craig replies 'it is fifty 1 dollar bills, accepted at all strip clubs in these united states!'

touch my glittery ball

carrot top was recently on 'the late late show with craig ferguson' and while doing his prop comedy one of his props broke! after the show he must have given the broken tiny disco ball to craig, because now craig has it featured on his desk! at the end of each guest craig has been prone to ask the guest how they would like to end their interview: awkward pause, or play the mouth organ. now with this tiny disco ball he has opened up a third option: touch my glittery ball! when a guest takes that option he pulls it over, set on its super fancy stand (a roll of electrical tape), and tells them: 'mr. bus driver, touch my glittery ball!' its a funny bit, but craig himself isnt too sure about it, often informing the guest that the kinks havent really been worked out yet, but still giving them the option to touch it. well, lets see where this third option goes and if craig can figure out a way to touch his glittery ball!

kangaroo balls at the north poll

who would have ever thought that kangaroo testicles would ever be at the north pole? well, craig ferguson, for one! he recently helped make this strange sight possible! 'regular viewers to this show, or as i call them 'people who dont have cable', will know that i had a guest on called wendy booker who was going to go to the north pole. i said 'oh, you will need a good luck charm to go to the north pole' and i gave her my kangaroo testicles that i kept on my desk. because carrie fisher was in australia, she brought back kangaroo testicles to give me as a gift saying 'well done, there'. and so i used to keep the testicles on my desk. when wendy was going to the north pole i said 'take these testicles to the north pole, they will bring you good luck!' well, she set me this picture! i cant help but notice that these testicles got a bit smaller... which makes me think either they are on steroids in order to enhance their performance, or two: she is actually at the north pole! and i think she is, she's at the north pole here. no sign of santa yet! but there are kangaroo's balls at the north pole. i think we can claim this as a first in the history of the world. never before in the history of the world have a kangaroo's testicles, or any other part of a kangaroo for that matter, been at the north pole- take that, guinness book of world records! the first marsupial testicles to reach the north pole, and that record belongs to me! which makes you my bitches...'

craig's pointer

as craig ferguson introduces a silly idea for a new cbs twitter contest, he goes back to his desk to find something he can offer the winner of the contest. he pulls a pen pointer from his pen cup and initially offers it as the winning prize. after inspecting it for a second he realizes that its pretty cool and decides to keep it for himself! through out the rest of the night's show, craig plays with it and tries to think of what he can use it for. criag amuses himself to no end suggesting you use the pointer to point to your own crotch. 'you should do that while you are out for dinner! when the waiter comes to the table!' which ends with craig laughing himself silly!

team secretariat shirts

for the last month or so on 'the late late show with craig ferguson', craig has been obsessed with secretariat. it all stemmed from the disney film that recently came out. ever since the film came out craig has had the door bell ring during his tweets and emails segment and has seen a dancing secretariat come out to wild applause! craig has loved it so much that the doorbell has been ringing during other segments as well. whenever the horse comes out during an interview, craig and the guest jump up and start dancing. now craig is taking it to a new level: when ever a guest dances along to the secretariat song, he awards them a 'team secretariat' shirt! when talking to salman rushdie, the first to receive a shirt, he said 'because you danced with secretariat, i've issued a new regime of giving a free tee shirt to everyone who dances with secretariat!'

ever since craig ferguson got that rattlesnake mug from mary mccormack, he's been getting some more fun gifts! this mug, made by ms. kunis herself, was given to craig when mila kunis came on the show as a guest. mila painted it herself just for craig! craig played it off like he really loved it, but it was obvious that he wasnt too keen on it at all! the best part if the mug is that mila even painted butt cheeks on the back of it!

marshmallow gun

recently craig ferguson got a new toy! during one of the segments of 'the late late show with craig ferguson' he pulled out a little marshmallow gun! its a little gun made of pvc pipes that he put little marshmallows in, pointed it at the audience, then blew through the hole- out pops a marshmallow! as he was first playing with it he jokingly asked the director why he had it: 'is this so i am more appealing to a younger demographic?!?' yup, it sure is! if he plays with this all the time, it reminds me of rosie o'donnell and her koosh balls! oh, maybe there's an endorsement deal in the works here!!!

wondering how you can get your hands on a rattlesnake mug like craig fergusons? well, you are in luck! craig ferguson got his originally from mary mccormack when she went to the albuquerque rattlesnake museum, but i have discovered where to get one from if you are not able to quickly drive over there yourself. after scouring the internet for a place to find the mug (with a little help from some faithful readers...) i have figured it out!

rattle snake mug

just like all late night talk show hosts, craig ferguson has always had a mug at his table. its always been a 'late late show' mug, but recently one of his guests, mary mccormack, brought him a new mug! when ever the conversation on the show goes on things like the desert, snakes, or anywhere in the southwest of the country, craig loves to ask a guest if they have ever been to the rattlesnake museum in albuquerque new mexico. well, mary mccormack was there and got him this rattle snake mug as a gift for him- craig was overjoyed! he was so excited about the new mug that he immediately threw his old mug to the floor, swearing to use this new rattlesnake mug from now on! he has, and continues to use it since then, often showing it off to new guests each night. it has been the topic of much conversation on his show.
unfortunately i have yet to find a place online to buy one of these crazy mugs, if you find a spot, please leave a link in the comments section!
